Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Isao Aoyama of Chairperson of Okayama ESD Promotion Commission.
I’m happy to have this opportunity to introduce Stakeholders’ Meetings of UNESCO World Conference on ESD held in Okayama, Japan.
As you may know, the Stakeholders’ Meetings including Global RCE Conference will be held in Okayama next year.

2. Framework of RCE Okayama
Okayama City joined Johannesburg Summit side event held in 2002.
Various Stakeholders including Okayama City Local Government established “Okayama ESD Promotion Commission” and acknowledged RCE to start “Okayama ESD Project” in 2005

3. Management & Features of RCE Okayama
1. Participation of Multi-Stakeholders
Multi-Stakeholders participate RCE Okayama.
Citizens’ groups, Media, Schools, Educational institutes, Enterprises, Local Governmental institutions
2. Activities & Support of Universities
Various Universities support local communities and citizens’ groups acting as ESD.
3. Financial & Human Resources of Local Government
Okayama City Office ensure financial and human resource for promotion of ESD. The city officials work as ESD Coordinators.
Subsidy is prepared for citizens’ groups to support their ESD activities.
4. ESD Promotion at Local communities
There are 37 Community Learning Centers in each junior high school district promoting ESD. ESD is promoted in the field of Non-Formal Education.
Exchange meeting and ESD café are arranged by Okayama ESD Promotion Commission as venues of dialogue.

4. Visions of RCE Okayama
1. Build up New Basic Concept of Okayama ESD Project
Okayama ESD Promotion Commission will release New Basic Concept of Okayama ESD Project for post-2014 promotion of ESD.
2. Installation of ESD into Policy & Activities of Local government
Each bureau and divisions in local government will try to act for ESD and SD as their own duty.
Okayama city, as a whole organization, will work with multi-stakeholders for ESD.
