1 LCAP Needs Assessment Tool
Excel based tool LCAP metrics displayed by priority and subgroup Most current data is displayed in each cell along with a 3-year trend line Purpose: Identify students by subgroup in most need of increased or improved services by metric and priority The LCAP Data Template Excel-based Needs Analysis Tool Metrics are grouped by LCAP Priority Each metric is disaggregated by subgroup when possible Overall Facility Rating cannot be disaggregated Those are grayed out The number in the cells represent the value for the year displayed on the second column The line chart (or Sparkline as MS calls it) displays 3 years of available history and displays the trend The height of the cell is range of the Y-Axis, bottom = 0%, Top = 100% The exceptions are API and API Growth The definitions of the metrics are embedded as comments and can be accessed by hovering your mouse pointer over the cell with the name of the metric.

2 Performance Indicators
The height of the cell is the y-axis for the trend line Pink cells indicate that the subgroup is below the district mean for the specified metric The “stop lights” indicate the percentage of metrics that are performing above the district mean for a given subgroup in a priority Green = 100% Yellow = Above 50% but less then 100% Red = 50% or less The pink cell color and “Stoplights” are indicators of subgroup performance relative to the district rate column. The pink cell color indicates that the subgroup’s value is below the district value for that specific metric. The “Stoplight” colors indicate how a subgroup is performing by LCAP Priority compared to the district. Green: All metrics with data are above the district rate/mean Yellow: Greater than 50% or more of metrics are above the district rate/mean Red: 50% or less of the metrics are above the district rate/mean We can see a better example of this on the next slide

3 Planning and Prioritization
The tool helps you target specific subgroups to make the most out of the limited resources available I am currently drafting a set of definition for the metrics. Comparing the data year over year is only possible if with consistently defined metrics. Data Source Point in time of data acquisition (as of CBEDS date vs EOY) Business and technical definition of metric (numerator) Business and technical definition of comparison metric (denominator, CBEDS enrollment vs Cumulative Enrollment)
