There are a lot of different and complex parts to a business letter so we need to break them down.
The first big piece to a business letter is the Heading, or where the letter is coming from. Heading Heading

What parts go in to a Heading?
1. The address of the sender. 2. The date. Ex: Jessie O’Keefe 2801 N Izabel St Flagstaff, AZ 86004 September 16, 2013 Address Date

The next big piece is the Inside Address, or where the letter is being sent.

Salutations! A greeting is needed in every letter.
A few good examples of salutations are: Dear__________: To Whom It May Concern: Salutations Salutations ***What is the difference between a Salutation or greeting in a friendly letter, and the salutation is a business letter? (HINT: Look at the examples!!!)

The Body is the next big piece.
In the body sections of the letter are the purpose. In this section there are details that support what is being said. Body Body

Close up shop Another piece to the puzzle of a business letter is the Closing. A few good examples of closings are: Sincerely, Yours truly, Closing Closing

Make sure to sign the letter!
The last piece of a business letter is the signing and printing of the name of the sender. Signature Signature *** Why do we first sign a letter and then print our name?***
