Use the pictures. 2. Think about what makes sense. 3. Make connections. 4. Use context clues. 5. When you don't understand, stop and reread.

1st time: Read just to get the gist of the article. (No underlining, highlighting, etc.) 2nd time: Re-read the article and highlight any important information. Make marginal notes! When finished, put your highlighter or pencil in the middle of your article.

What does the word transformation mean? (You can use a dictionary)
