A point where two or more straight lines meet. A corner

An image or shape as it would be seen in a mirror.

Circular movement around a fixed point

An isometry is a transformation in which the original figure and its image are congruent

6. ORIENTATION
The physical position of an object

7. PRE-IMAGE
The original shape of a figure BEFORE it has been transformed; an original figure

8. CLOCKWISE
Moving in the direction of the hands on a clock

9. DILATION
To re-size a figure; make larger or smaller

10. SIMILAR
When the only difference between 2 figures is size; shape and angle measure are the same

11. CONGRUENT
When two figures have the same shape and SIZE

12. IMAGE
The resultant shape of a figure after it has been transformed; the copy of a figure

13. CONGRUENT SIDES
Sides that are the same length

14. COUNTER CLOCKWISE
Going in the direction opposite of the hands of a clock; to the left

15. TRANSFORMATION
Changing a shape using a • Turn • Flip • Slide, or • Resize

16. RIGID TRANSFORMATION
A change in location of a figure without changing its shape or SIZE

17. TRANSLATION
Sliding a shape without rotating or flipping it

18. LINE OF REFLECTION
An imaginary line which lies directly in the middle between a figure and its image

19. CONGRUENT ANGLES
Angles with the same measure

20. CENTER OF DILATION
The point from which a figure is dilated

21. POINT OF ROTATION
The point about which a figure is rotated

22. SCALE FACTOR
A number which multiplies a quantity; the amount by which a figure increase or decrease in size

23. ANGLE OF ROTATION
The measurement of the amount by which a figure is rotated

A name given to a shape signifying that it is the result of a transformation
