Toxicology of Alcohol Absorption into the blood stream
Distribution throughout the bodies water supply Elimination by oxidation and excretion (average loss is 0.015% per hour)
3
Movement of Alcohol Esophogus to Stomach Small Intestine
Liver (process of destruction starts) Moves to heart Right Atrium and Right Ventricle ( very little O2) Blood is pumped to lungs to be replenished with O2 Leaves through the nose and mouth
4
Breathalyzer Developed in 1954 Filled with Potassium dichromate
Any alcohol present dissolves the dichromate so we measure the amount of destruction
5
Field Sobriety Tests Series of psychophysical tests
Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus- eyes jerk at a 45 degree angle if you are .10% BAC Walk and Turn One Leg Stand Alphabet
