Is Our Love for God Lacking?
Mark 12:28-31
2
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
3
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one.
4
30 ’And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first command-ment.
5
31 ”And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

God has cooled and our hearts have drifted?
How can we tell if our love for God has cooled and our hearts have drifted?
8
Drifting Hearts 1. When our delight in the Lord is no longer as great as our delight in someone else or other things.
9
Drifting Hearts 2. When our soul does not long for times of rich fellowship in God’s Word and prayer.
10
Drifting Hearts 3. When our thoughts do not reflect upon God often.
11
Drifting Hearts 4. When we claim to be “only human” and easily give in or excuse those things we know displease the Lord.
12
Drifting Hearts 5. When we do not willingly, faithfully, & cheerfully give to God’s work or to the needs of others.
13
Drifting Hearts 6. When we do not treat people with respect, mistreat others, & fail to love them as Jesus loves us.
14
Drifting Hearts 7. When we begin to view the commands of the Lord as restrictions to our happiness rather than expressions of His love.
15
Drifting Hearts 8. When we live in order to please the world or ourselves instead of the Lord.
16
Drifting Hearts 9. When we become complacent concerning our service to the Lord and the sinful conditions around us.
17
Drifting Hearts 10. When we begin to take God’s love for us for granted and are no longer moved or motivated by His sacrifice on our behalf.
