What is a problem? “A problem arises when you are seeking a goal and the immediate course of action is not apparent.” Marilyn Burns Problem solving and word problems are two different ideas.

How do you teach children to do problem solving or constructive response problems?
First we will teach the process 1 in whole groups, 2 then let them work in small groups and 3 then, let them work individually on constructive response items or Exemplars. 4
