2. Overview:
During puberty the reproductive organs mature to create a fertile individual capable of reproducing.
The primary sex organs produce the sex cells (egg/sperm) and sex hormones.
The accessory sex organs are all the components involved in maintaining the sex cell and assisting in the process of fertilization.

Use pages 393 to 394 to complete the following:

Scrotum: to be to keep the temperature of the testes slightly lower than that of the rest of the body Rectum: acts as a temporary storage site for fecal matter before it is eliminated from the body Bladder: to hold urine until it can be released to the urethra and out of the body Endometrium: it is the lining of the uterus; it is shed once a month; serves as a place for an embryo to implant and be nourished. It also serves as a coating to keep the uterine walls from adhering (attaching) to each other.
