Early Prophase In early prophase, the chromosomes will coil up into a X-shape. The nucleolus will dissolve and the nuclear membrane will begin to break down. Spindle fibers will begin to form and stretch across the cell.
8
Late Prophase The spindle fiber will complete forming its shape. The spindle fiber will attach to the centromeres and the nuclear membrane will disappear.
9
Metaphase At this stage, the spindle fiber will pull the X-shaped chromosomes into single lines across the middle
10
Anaphase The spindle fiber will contract and it will become shorter. This allows the centromere to pull themselves apart and letting the sister chromatids to move to opposite ends of the pole. When this process is finished, the sister chromatid will be considered as the chromosome.
11
Telophase This is the last stage of mitosis. Once the chromosomes are at opposite sides, the spindle fiber will be gone and a nucleolus will appear in both nucleus. When this happens, the cell is ready to divide.
