How Orioles Look Orioles are smaller than a American Robin . They have thick necks and long legs with webbed feet . Most orioles have pointed bills . Females are grayish black .Males are orange and black . The oriole is centimeters long . Males are 1-5% larger than female orioles . Orchard orioles are dark orange and black . All orioles have loud musical charming voices .

Habitat (Where They Live)
Orioles habitat or their home Orioles live in Eastern North America . They live in high leafy trees like at the canopy . They live in open woodlands or forest edges on the river banks . Orioles like most other bird live in a nest .

Food What Orioles Eat Orioles eat insects such as monarchs , caterpillars , ants , grasshoppers , crickets , beetles , mayflies , spiders and much more . They also eats fruit and plants like leaves and fruits like oranges . There is also one others thing that they eat nectar .

Enemies And Defenses Orioles enemies are common grackles . Female birds only defend the area around them . If orioles are being attacked they will most likely fight back or not attack and fly away . COMMON GRACKLE

INTERESTING FACTS There are 8 really cool different species of orioles like the Baltimore Oriole , Orchard Oriole , Bullocks Oriole , Spot Breasted Oriole , Scotts Oriole , Audubon's Oriole , and Hooded Oriole . An oriole can lay 3-7 eggs at a time . A oriole spends days with their family and the oriole only gives birth 1 time . They use postures and movements to communicate . In Jamaica orioles are known as banana birds .
