10. Justice Fairness or payback??
When people break the law in Australia and are convicted by the courts it is said they have been ‘brought to justice’
Through key principles and procedures (such as right to a fair trial), the legal system encourages the delivery of justice to all citizens

The way good citizens contribute to or take part in society
Participate in many ways: voting in election or referendum, serving on a jury or paying taxes

Our entitlements and duties as citizens
Right – ensure we are able to have a say in the way our country is run and are treated fairly in the process
Responsibilities – ensure we contribute to our society in order to keep it going as a strong democracy
