2. Revelation 17 3rd reference to John “in the Spirit”
John saw the judgment of the great harlot/prostitute/Babylon
She sat on waters and THEN the scarlet beast
Earth dwellers drunk with her wine
SHE is drunk with the blood of the saints, the witnesses of Jesus
Beast is full of blasphemous names, 7 heads and 10 horns
Maybe the same beast as in 13:1

3. Revelation 17 The woman is referred to as Babylon the great
Marriage supper of the Lamb
Explanation of the woman and beast vs. 6-9
Heads, mountains and horns are all kings
Ten kings receive authority for one hour and their one purpose is to give it to the Beast
They turn on the harlot; burn her with fire
They are used by God to execute His purpose

4. Revelation 18
Another angel, having great authority and illumines the whole earth: “Fallen, fallen..”
This chapter is about Babylon’s fall in one hour or one day
City: unclean spirits, hateful birds dwell in Babylon
Nations are drunk with her wine
Rich merchants weep and mourn over her
Another voice calls to God’s people to come out
Her sins are piled high: Plagues brought in one day
City burns

5. Revelation 19 Heaven’s response to judgment of Babylon
Blood of the saints has been avenged
Cross-reference Rev. 6:9-11
Voice of a great multitude praising God
Marriage of the Lamb
His bride has made herself ready
She is clothed in fine linen: the righteous acts of the saints
John was told to write, “Blessed are those invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”

6. Revelation 19
John falls at the feet of the angel and worships but he is a fellow servant of John and the saints
Testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy
Main event: the Lord’s coming
Eyes like a flame of fire (1:14)
Sharp 2 edged sword in His mouth (1:16)
Great supper of God
Beast and False prophet thrown in Lake of Fire
Rest were killed with Jesus’ sword

7. Revelation 20
Devil is thrown into the abyss by an angel with the key to it, for 1,000 years
Satan cannot deceive the nations until AFTER the 1,000 years when he is released for a short time.
Souls John saw: beheaded, did not worship the beast or receive his mark, killed, then came to life and reigned with Christ for 1,000 years.
This is the FIRST resurrection

8. Revelation 20 Souls John saw: blessed and holy
2nd death has no power over them
Priests of God and Christ
Rest of the dead did not come alive until after the 1,000 year reign
After: Satan is released, deceives the nations to gather for war.
He is defeated and thrown into the Lake of Fire
Last event: Great White Throne Judgment where the dead are judged according to their deeds
Death, Hades, those whose names are not in the book of life ALL thrown into the Lake of Fire which is the 2nd death.

9. Revelation 21 & 22 NEW heaven and earth, NEW Jerusalem
God wipes away all our tears
Rev. 21:10 Final, “In the Spirit” by John
John is shown the bride of the Lamb and the New Jerusalem

10. The City No temple because God and the Lamb are the temple
No sun or moon for the glory of God illumines it and its lamp is the Lamb
Nations walk by its light Gates are never shut
Kings of the earth who enter are righteous because nothing unclean can enter in
River of life comes from God’s throne
Tree of life yields fruit each month
No more curse
God’s servants see His face

11. We shall see Him
We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is I John 3:2b
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face: now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known I Cor. 13:12
