2. The question is open to research
This means you should be able to use research to answer the question
The scope of the course has to be realized (don’t pick a science related question because we can’t answer that with prose and poetry 
Eg. What is the best way to lead a group of people?

3. The question may have many possible answers
Cannot be answered with “yes” or “no”
“Why” , “What”, “How” all work to start but be sure that the answer is…..
Open-ended (no right or wrong answer)
Eg. How can we improve the lives of people less fortunate in developing countries?

4. Direct and specific questions
It has to have a clear focus BUT be vague enough to encourage many answers

Why do people hurt others?

5. Inquiry Questions The question is open to research

What motivates one to be a suicide bomber?
