15. What is School-wide Positive Behavior Support?
School-wide PBS is:
A systems approach for establishing the social culture and individualized behavioral supports needed for schools to be effective learning environments for all students.
Evidence-based features of PBIS
Prevention
Define and teach positive social expectations
Acknowledge positive behavior
Arrange consistent consequences for problem behavior
On-going collection and use of data for decision-making
Continuum of intensive, individual interventions.
Administrative leadership – Team-based implementation (Systems that support effective practices)

16. What this will look like for Adams next year:
Goals:
Develop 3-5 positively and clearly stated expectations (rules) that are well known to all school members.
Create a flow chart to define which behaviors can be handled within the school environment, and which should be made an office referral.
Create a matrix that defines what each expectation looks like within any given school environment.
i.e. classroom, playground, cafeteria, hallway
Teach these expectations across all environments at the start of the year and continually throughout the year.
