1 Aims and Objectives

2 We are getting close to you actually carrying out your campaign now.
You now need (if you haven’t done it already) to be confirming where and when you can implement the campaign. You also need to be collecting any/all the resources you will need. [Posters, leaflets, materials etc.]

3 You may wish to request resources from the internet or current campaigns (eg. a ‘Quit’ pack).
Or you can visit a local Health Promotion/Social Marketing unit. Every PCT has one. It’s a good idea to contact them first so they know to be there or what you need. It might be a good idea to go in pairs or small groups so they are not overwhelmed. Allow time – don’t leave this or it might be too late for you if there is a delay on ordering materials.

4 You can design and make your own posters and leaflets, but this is very time consuming and won’t gain any extra marks.

5 Aims and Objectives (AO2)
The aim(s) can be quite broad. The objectives must be more precise. See SMART in your booklet. The objectives can also relate to the following:

6 Knowing This is related to: Giving information Explaining Increasing knowledge All this ‘understanding’ helps the client to make informed choices.

7 Feeling This is related to: Attitudes, beliefs, values and opinions. Do the client’s ‘feelings’ present a barrier to the health education information or situation?

8 Doing This is related to: Skills and actions For example teaching an exercise, or a hand washing technique, or how to prepare a healthy meal.

9 A good way to do Objectives is to say:
By the end of my campaign the audience/clients/participants/target group will be able to: 1 ………………………………….. 2 ………………………………….. 3 …………………………………..

10 Now try it out.
