2. Lent is an important season in the Church’s year in which we prepare for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Lent is a period of 40 week days that in the Christian Church we devote to fasting, abstinence, and penitence.
It is a period of prayer, penance, and fasting.

They help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice. We use ashes as an expression of our need to begin again and renew our lives. Ash Wednesday starts us off with ashes as a reminder that in the beginning we were made from dust and will in the end return to dust

4. Holy Saturday is the day before Easter and the last day of Holy Week in which Christians prepare for Easter. It commemorates the day that Jesus Christ’s body was laid in the tomb.

5. Everything we do in Lent is to imitate Jesus Christ and all his good deeds, in order to grow closer to Him and to God in our faith. Lent is a season of soul-searching and Repentance in which we find our faith and ourselves.
