North American Biomes Tundra, Taiga, Desert, Tropical Rainforest, Grassland, and Deciduous Forest.

Tundra The Tundra is located neat the North or South pole and is characterized by moss lichens and permafrost on a “treeless plain”

Taiga The Taiga is the largest terrestrial biome that is located just below the arctic circle and has long cold winters and plentiful coniferous forests.

Desert Deserts are hot and dry but not lifeless! There may be cactuses and in general the vegetation is shorter and less dense than other biomes.

Tropical Rainforest The lush forests are located close to the equator and have high temperatures year-round along with abundant precipitation.
