Emerging Applications of Extended Reality Applications The x-axis is a condensed representation of the virtuality continuum, with virtual reality (VR) on the left, mixed reality (MxR) and merged reality (MeR) in the center, and augmented reality (AR) on the right. The y-axis categorizes the applicability of each solution. Intraprocedural applications are the most sensitive platform type, and currently are only being developed for MxR.
