2. USMAP Purpose of U.S Military Apprenticeship Program

3. Purpose.
Purpose- USMAP was designed by the Center for Professional Development to provide Active service members the opportunity to improve their job skills and to complete their civilian apprentice requirements while they are on active duty.

Benefits
No cost and off duty hours to the services member. Cost for apprenticeship can be anywhere from $650 to $1,050 not including application fee.

Provides documented work experience and builds self esteem
Service members receive the same credit for military experience and training as their civilian counterparts
Helps the service member become more marketable for future employment
