What is an Emotion? Emotion is energy in motion
Emotion is the body’s guidance system It tells us whether or not we are in aligned with our highest self If we are in alignment, we “feel” good If we are out of alignment, we feel “bad” Emotions come from the higher self and are experienced through the physical body

What is Anxiety? Traditional Medical Symptoms
Irrational, excessive fear and worry, apprehension or dread Trouble concentrating, watching for signs of danger Feeling tense and jumpy, anticipating the worst Irritability, restlessness Feeling like your mind’s gone blank Pounding heart, sweating, stomach upset or dizziness Frequent urination or diarrhea Shortness of breath, tremors and twitches Muscle tension Headaches, fatigue, insomnia

What is Depression? Traditional Medical Symptoms
Depressed or irritable mood most of the day—nearly every day Loss of interest or pleasure in activities most of the day—nearly every day A sudden change in weight (weight loss without dieting, gaining more than 5% of body weight in 1 month), or a change in appetite Inability to sleep or sleeping too much, nearly every day Agitation or restlessness (observed by others) nearly every day Constant fatigue or loss of energy nearly every day Frequent feelings of worthlessness or inappropriate guilt nearly every day Difficulty concentrating or making decisions nearly every day Frequent thoughts of death or suicide (or a suicide attempt or plan)

What is Panic Disorder? Traditional Medical Symptoms
Panic attacks are episodes of intense panic or fear. It is a form of anxiety. Usually occur suddenly and without warning. Sometimes there’s an obvious trigger but often come out of the blue. Usually peak within ten minutes, and they rarely last more than a half hour. But during that short time, the terror can be so severe that they feel as if they’re about to die or totally lose control. Feels like having a heart attack, heart palpitations or chest pain Surge of overwhelming panic Feeling of losing control or going crazy Feeling like you’re going to pass out Trouble breathing or choking sensation Hyperventilation Hot flashes or chills Trembling or shaking Nausea or stomach cramps Feeling detached or unreal

What is PTSD? Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that can develop after you’ve gone through a traumatic experience, usually one that has caused or threatened death or severe injury. Any catastrophic life experience—war, a hurricane, a mugging, rape, a horrific accident—can trigger the disorder, especially if the event is perceived as unpredictable and uncontrollable. PTSD can affect those who personally experience the catastrophe, those who witness it, and those who pick up the pieces afterwards. Intrusive memories of the traumatic event Bad dreams, Flashbacks or reliving the event Feelings of intense distress when reminded of the trauma Physiological stress response to reminders of the event (pounding heart, rapid breathing, nausea, muscle tension, sweating) Difficulty falling or staying asleep Irritability or outbursts of anger Difficulty concentrating Hypervigilance, or being constantly “on guard” An exaggerated startle response, or jumpiness

What is a Phobia? A phobia is an unrealistic or exaggerated fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that in reality presents little to no danger. Common phobias include fear of animals such as snakes and spiders, fear of flying, and fear of heights. In the case of a severe phobia, you might go to extreme lengths to avoid the thing you fear. Unfortunately, avoidance only strengthens the phobia.

How are they Related? From an energetic perspective, they are all caused by a disruption or series of disruptions in the energy body These disruptions can be caused by a single trauma or a series of traumas A preponderance of thoughts which are out of alignment with the higher self are also traumatic Misaligned thoughts are traumatic to the system The solution is to tap out the trauma and the misaligned thoughts and then find ways to recreate a more appropriate patterns of thought They all elicit the same physiological response in the body

In the case of trauma, the body will activate the Autonomic Nervous System The Sympathetic Nervous System will kick in to activate the fight or flight response The endocrine system will be activated, and release hormones to heighten awareness More on this later…
