1 ECG Review Atrial and Ventricular Rhythms

2 Atrial rhythms Do not always have a visible P wave Usually have a QRS May have a T wave also, but it may be hidden.

3 Premature Atrial Contraction (PAC)
Which rhythm is this??? Premature Atrial Contraction (PAC) Notice the “spiky” P-wave before the premature beat

4 Atrial fibrillation (A-Fib)
Which rhythm is this??? Atrial fibrillation (A-Fib) Notice the lack of visible P waves and irregular QRS rhythm

5 Atrial Flutter Which rhythm is this???
Notice the regular but too-frequent P waves

6 Ventricular rhythms QRS is abnormal May or may not be able to see normal P waves

7 Asystole Which rhythm is this???
Notice the total lack of electrical activity on this one

8 Ventricular fibrillation (V Fib)
Which rhythm is this??? Ventricular fibrillation (V Fib) Notice that you can’t really tell what any of these parts are

9 Premature Ventricular Contraction (PVC)
Which rhythm is this??? Premature Ventricular Contraction (PVC) Notice the wide QRS in this one

10 Ventricular tachycardia (V Tach)
Which rhythm is this??? Ventricular tachycardia (V Tach) Notice the “V” rhythm and lack of visible P or T waves
