Ex: flammable, combustible, may react to light

5. Physical Change – a change in size, shape, or state of matter; substance does not change identity when it undergoes a physical change
Ex: melting ice, cutting paper, breaking glass, distillation

6. Distillation is the process of separating substances in a mixture by evaporating a liquid and condensing its vapor.

7. Chemical Change – a change in one substance to another substance
Ex: fireworks explode, rusting metal

8. The Law of Conservation of Mass
states that mass of all substances present before a chemical change equals the mass of all substances after the change
