I’m a firm believer in what we give our attention to, grows
I’m a firm believer in what we give our attention to, grows. Last year, Trustee chair Paul Neutzel set a comprehensive goal of $360m dollars. We actually achieved $414.7M in total contributions! That didn’t happen without focus, actionable plans by our districts and srong leadership from the district leadership teams. Zones 25/26 were ranked in the 6 measured giving categories as one of the top 6 Zones in the world. We have some exciting work to do to continue to meet that level of achievement. We have some very generous and committed Rotarians in our zones.

BUT’ IT’s NOT REALLY ABOUT THE MONEY IS IT!
This little girl named, Sophie, from a very poor Myan village in Guatemala who followed Rotarians around for three days while they installed both a clean water and sanitation system in her village. Her mother was very proud to note that her children, including Sophie were among the healthiest in the village because she could now feed them good food, including fruits and vegetables with the help of a Rotary Foundation funded grant from the previous year. As she looks into your eyes, she’s praying that one day just maybe someone like you with the help of a similar Rotary Foundation program will change the life of her three cousins who live in a neighboring village just as her life has been changed. You see my friends, through our Rotary Foundation, we Rotarians actually do Make Dreams Real! By actively engaging your members in the various programs of The Rotary Foundation, your return on that investment is committed, dedicated and happy MEMBERS who will in fact attract similar minded friends to join their Rotary Club. The positive impact that FOUNDATION funded projects have, not only our local communities, but communities around the Globe are a huge part of who we are. It is in fact a huge part of our BRAND! The ‘good’ that is accomplished with the help of our FOUNDTION is simply a huge part of our continued success as an Organization, this incredible Organization that you and I call Rotary!

What’s the VALUE in story telling – in this case, sharing a personal ‘Rotary’ story? (inspire, touch the heart, moving, motivational, educational, personal….. ) How many of you are thinking right now that you may not have a personal Rotary story to share? Have you have ever contributed to The Rotary Foundation? If you have, then you in fact have thousands of stories to share, because each one of those Foundation stories are YOUR stories too! If time permits, share a ‘personal’ 2 minute story of your own.
