Reasons for problems and delays
Dissemination of rail data – Annex F & G Regional data (Annex F) and traffic on network data (Annex G) dissemination delayed till mid-2009 Reasons for problems and delays 2005 Annexes F & G data collection took place for the first time New experience also for Eurostat – first time data reception Delays in data provisions result in delays in data dissemination - revisions and supportive information provided on a continuous basis till mid-2008; some data still missing Additional validation rules needed External IT tasks needed for the dissemination tables Extension of Network Segment code from 7 to 8 digits Additional revisions still expected when the full validation process is launched – beginning of 2009 2-3 April 2009 Meeting of the Working Group on Rail Transport Statistics Agenda point: 5

As timeliness and quality of rail transport data improved in general: Annual data (Annex A, B, C, D, H) may be disseminated much quicker – at the latest 1 month after reception, provided that the data has passed successfully all levels of the validation process Quarterly data (Annex E) may be disseminated at the latest 1 week after reception, provided that the data has passed successfully all levels of the validation process The EU aggregates will only be available when all data of all related countries have passed successfully all levels of the validation process 2-3 April 2009 Meeting of the Working Group on Rail Transport Statistics Agenda point: 5
