Student Name Regular, Font Size 40
Faculty Academic year Supervisory team PGR address Title Bold, Font Size 48 Student Name Regular, Font Size 40 The poster size is A2 (594x420 mm) in landscape orientation. The university logo should be in the top left corner; the department, course and academic year should be in the top right corner. The poster should explain your project in a clear, concise manner with emphasis on diagrams/imagery. Remember the function of a poster is to convey your message at a glance. The minimum font size for your text is 28. Keep the word count to a minimum. All images should be at least 150 ppi (pixels per inch) to avoid blurriness and jagged edges, but not more than 300 ppi to avoid making the file unnecessarily large. Posters will be judged both on academic content and visual impact (so think about use of original designs and images and be wary about using too many words). The purpose of a poster is to attract other conference participants to your research, so think carefully about how to do this. Think about your poster as a way of marketing your research. You do not need to include all the information about your research in your poster (indeed it would be a mistake to do this; think instead about using it as a ‘hook’ to get people interested in what you are doing). Also, bear in mind that conference participants will be from a wide range of disciplines and you need to be able to communicate your work effectively with all of them. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have obtained any third party copyright permissions required for the use of images. If you have photographs with people in, you must have obtained their permission to use their image.
