2. Mentoring benefits both the mentor and the mentee
Mentoring creates meaningful connections that can positively impact the lives of both mentor and mentee. Those who receive mentorship are more likely to see improved academic, social, and economic prospects.
Those who mentor are able to further build important leadership, management and creative skills, while giving back to their community.
That means that EVERY mentorship matters.

3. Why mentoring matters
Student-to-student mentoring fosters a deeper sense of belonging and community among the grade levels
Mentoring demonstrates to middle school students that they have more to offer than just academic success: they can be role models to the younger students

4. Support teachers in their goals for their class.
Student Mentors Can:
Support teachers in their goals for their class.
Support students in practicing social skills like listening, sharing with others, practicing kindness, and academic goals like practicing math facts, reading strategies, spelling and sentence formation
Work one-on-one with a particular student, a small group of students, or with the whole class
At recess, student mentors can help organize games
