Morning Reading and Reading Records
Please listen to your child read for at least 10 minutes per day and discuss what has been read. Please sign your name or record a comment each time. Support for your child’s targets and ideas to help at home can be found in their reading records. You are invited into your child’s class once a week for morning reading.

INVOLVEMENT to involve pupils and all adults associated with the school, in our organisation and discipline. RESPECT to have respect for and courtesy towards others regardless of race, age, gender or ability. You play a great part here – keep asking your daughter questions about her learning, take an interest, listen to her read, check her homework – be part of her education.

Our Target this year is…
Carry on with the consistent strategies for MATHS taking into account the reasoning requirements. Carry on implementing a consistent strategy for READING comprehension taking into account the even higher expectations set. Explore further READING strategies to help our children attain.

Weekly Homework Spellings Each Friday one piece of spellings homework will be given to your child related to the Year 2 expected standards. Handwriting Each Friday one piece of Handwriting will be given. The words will be related to a spelling focus each week.

Provided below are details of our school uniform:
KS1 Uniform School Uniform Provided below are details of our school uniform: Boys Grey trousers White school regulation polo shirt Red school regulation sweatshirt Grey socks Black school shoes – Velcro fasteners, if possible Girls WINTER Grey pinafore dress/skirt, or trousers Red school regulation sweatshirt or Red school regulation cardigan White, red or grey socks or tights SUMMER Red and white checked dress may be worn Black school shoes – no sandals ALL CLOTHES MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE CHILD’S NAME Please note, jogging bottoms, jeans, leggings or casual/combat style trousers are not part of our school uniform.

KS1 PE Kit A P.E. bag (available from the office).
A school book bag (available from the office). A pair of plimsolls for P.E. – those with gusset sides are best. A red T shirt and black shorts (available from the office).

Punctuality: Please make sure your child arrives at school on time every day PE Kit: PE kits must be in school on the day your child’s class does PE Tuesday – Narobi & Sydney Wednesday – Kingston & London Thursday - Paris

Attendance and Punctuality
Excellent attendance and punctuality is expected of all pupils. Pupil absences must be explained either by letter, telephone or in person by a responsible adult. Unexplained absences are classed as unauthorised and are followed up by the Education Welfare Officer. Leave of absence for pupils during term time for any reason is actively discouraged. Requests for such absences must be made in writing to the Headteacher and permission will only be given in very exceptional circumstances We have a target of 96% and for the past 2 yaers we have been just below the national average. Please ensure your daughter attends school as often as physically possible.

Parent Code of Conduct We expect parents and carers to show respect and concern for others by:- supporting the respectful ethos of our school by setting a good example in their own speech and behaviour towards all members of the school community; working together with teachers and school staff for the benefit of children. This includes approaching the school to resolve any issues of concern and to discuss and clarify specific events in order to bring about a positive solution; reinforcing the school’s policy on Behaviour; parking with consideration and respect for others when delivering and collecting children from school.

In order to support a peaceful and safe school environment, the school does not tolerate:-
disruptive behaviour which interferes with the operation of a classroom, an office area or any other part of the school grounds; using loud and/or offensive language or displaying temper; threatening harm or the use of physical aggression towards another adult or child. This includes approaching someone else’s child in order to discuss or chastise them and physical punishment against your own child on school premises. damaging or destroying school property;
