An adjective is a word that modifies, or describes, a noun or pronoun.
Adjectives are used to describe people, places, and things.

Adjectives an tell what kind, which one, or how many about something.
Example:
What Kind:
I like Klee’s colorful paintings.
Which One(s):
I saw those pictures in this museum.
How Many:
Kai admired several sculptures by one artist.

4. Adjectives Adjectives can come before or after the word they describe.
Example:
That picture shows three blue birds.
Klee’s paintings, colorful and strange, amuse me.

5. Predicate Adjectives
A predicate adjective follows a linking verb and describes the subject.
Example:
The painting is excellent.
It looks old.

6. Guided Practice We liked those paintings by Rousseau. They are famous.
Directions: Name the adjective(s) in each sentence and the noun or pronoun it describes.

Several paintings show wild animals.
