This study was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of AUBMC

10. Results
FNA was performed in 2 nodules in 98 subjects, thus data from a total of 498 nodules were used in the analyses.
Most nodules were located in the lobes and only 5% were in the isthmus
The median size of the nodules was 17 mm [3-53].

Micro or macrocalcifications, the presence of halo were not reported in the majority of nodules, without difference between genders.

Almost 50% of the nodules were isoechoic and 70% were solid in the overall group and across genders.
