SpringBoard Unit 1- Activity 1.2 (page 6) Have your annotations key (I.A.N. p. 49) open and refer to it while you read. Student Volunteer? Read “About the Author”. As a class, we will read “The Circuit” (p. 6-8). Yes, you may write in your book.

Reading Portfolio First, place your last name, first name on the tab. Example: Squarepants, SpongeBob Then, add “Reading Portfolio” to the front cover of the folder. This reading portfolio will stay in class and you will use it almost every day.

Independent Reading First, place your “Notes for Reading Independently” inside of your Reading Portfolio (folder). Each day, you should: Bring a book of your choice (on your Lexile level – No “Cat in the Hat”-types of books) from either the L.M.C. or our classroom library; Expect to read for minutes a day; Complete 1-2 boxes of this chart per day.
