What kind of units (services) do we have then?
Compulsary education covers children from 6 till 16 years of age.
Within compulsary education we also have separate information for children with special needs, a separate calculation is made for this with different weights depending on how much assistance different pupils need. This production amounts to about 4-5 percent of the total production value.
Teaching is measured by number of pupil hours. The number of hours spent at school varies between 20 and 35 hours per week for different age groups.
Teaching is divided into two parts as the unit cost for mothertongue and Swedish as a secondary language is much more higher than ordinary lessons.
School meals – number of pupils
School transports – deflation by a weighted index for bus and taxi transports
Student’ care – includes services of doctor and nurce but also guidance for further studies and vocational guidance – number of students. Only last year students are counted for vocational and further studies guidance.
Pre-school class – number of children including an extra weight for those who need extra language support

Merit value for the 16 best subjects in the final certificate

1.The number of students leaving compulsary school at 16 years of age, that do not receive a final certificate about 500.

The same services as for compulsary school but no. of pupils attending different programs weighted with the average expenditure per program

The same services – but we don’t have any pre-school training here of course
As for compulsary school there is also separate information on expenditures and number of pupils with special needs. This group is calculated separately, they have special vocational programs.
A variety of diffent programms are offered, about 20, for which separate calculations are made. The average expenditure per pupil varies a lot between the different programs. For each program the number of pupils per program and the average expenditure per program is used.

Receive resources according to two principles:

No of finished full-time students/courses
To weight students in different educational areas government grants is used
- per full time equivalent
- per full time performance and by area.

The corresponding measure is the degree of activity
A 100 % activity is one full time researcher

Costs - Weight together the cost for a full time equivalent student with the cost for a full time performance - per educational area
Use the costs to weight the volume and calculate indices
