This comment seems strange coming from Cherry
This comment seems strange coming from Cherry. Up to that point, she and Dally had only exchanged combative comments with each other. In fact, she even throws a drink in his face after his dirty language offends her. When she makes this statement to Ponyboy, it might suggest Dally is unlike anyone she's ever met. Pony describes her as a very pretty cheerleader, so she is likely used to the same kind of treatment from boys. Dally has a "bad boy" personality with a different kind of confidence that she might find interesting. Based on her other comments in the chapter, this may be more evidence that she is not too enamored with life as a Soc.
