NCATE Standard 3: The unit and its school partners design, implement, and evaluate field experiences and clinical practice so that teacher candidates and other school professionals develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions necessary to help all students learn.

The unit does not align assessment proficiencies for field experiences and clinical practice to the conceptual framework.

Limited evidence exists to show that candidates in other school professional programs are able to create environments that have a positive impact on student learning.

Exhibits Examples across programs of collaborative activities between unit and P-12 schools Policies, practices, and data on candidate placement in field experiences and clinical practice Criteria for the selection of clinical faculty (both higher ed and P-12 school faculty) Examples of support and evaluation of clinical faculty across programs

Exhibits Key assessments and scoring guides used for assessing professional dispositions. Data and summaries of results on key assessments of professional dispositions, disaggregated by program. Examples of candidates’ assessment and analysis of P-12 student learning. Samples of candidates’ work (e.g. portfolios)

Guidelines/handbooks on field experiences and clinical practice for candidates
Assessment instruments and scoring guides used for and the data collected from field experiences (including use of technology for teaching and learning) Performance data on candidates entering and exiting from clinical practice for all programs

Committee Plans 50-75% completed with the completion of the Field Experiences Handbook. Examples must be collected from all programs. Data must also be collected and analyzed. By December, we should have the alignment of field experiences and clinical practice with outcomes of conceptual framework completed By March all evidence should be collected for narrative generation By end of April narrative should be completed
