When prevailing prayer goes up to God, answers come down!

KEY THOUGHT There is a quality of prayer that achieves nothing. There is also a prayer that prevails. Our lack of supply is often the result of our ignorance about how to open heaven’s doors. No believer should have any of his prayers unanswered. Our redemptive right, family right, kingdom right, guarantee answers to prayer as we walk with God.

4. THE INTERPRETATION OF PREVAILING PRAYER – Luke 18:1-8
It is not just any kind of prayer:
It has a specific demand, single donor and receives a speedy decision – vs. 1-3
It is fervent, consistent, desperate and persistent – vs. 4-5

Elijah – I Kings 18:36-38; 42-43
Moses and Samuel – Jer. 15:1
Daniel – Dan 2:18-19
Jacob – Gen 32:24-28
Jabez – I Chro. 4:10
Achsah – Judges 1:12-15

The hindrances:
Unconfessed sins – Ps. 66:18; Isa. 59:1-2
Unforgiving spirit – Matt 5:23; Mk 11:25
Doubt/lack of faith – James 1:6-8
Lack of compassion – Pro. 3:27-28
Strife and disunity – I Pet. 3:7
Spiritual hindrances – Eph. 6:12; Dan 10:12-13
Casual disposition – Jer. 29:13

What are the ingredients?
Righteousness – James 5:16
Importunity –Luke 11:5-9; Rom 12:12
Total dependence and faith in God – Prov. 3:5; Heb. 11:6
Thanksgiving – I Tim. 2:1
The will of God –I John 5:14; Lk 22:42
The glory of God – I Kings 18:36
Arise and prevail in prayer!
