3/7/13 Chapter 18, The Great Depression Aim: How did Hoover try to fix the economy during the Great Depression? Objective: Students will identify President Hoover’s attempts at fixing the economy. Hooverville: A "Hooverville" is the popular name for shanty towns built by homeless people during the Great Depression. They were named after Herbert Hoover, who was President of the United States during the onset of the Depression and widely blamed for it.
