2. Galileo Programme Overview
Giove-A launched 28th December 2005: Environmental payload comprises of CEDEX and MERLIN.
Giove-B due for launch late 2007: Environmental payload comprises of SREM.
IOV (In Orbit Validation) phase already underway. Will consist of four Galileo satellites and the supporting mission/control ground infrastructure. Environmental units planned to be flown on a TBD number of satellites
Remaining 26 spacecraft will be launched once system validation is complete

3. Objectives Presentation of Giove-A instrument suite, CEDEX and MERLIN
Presentation of Giove-A in-orbit results and review of research methodology
Presentation of Space Weather Effects on GNSS systems and services
Understanding and mitigation of Space Weather effects is critical for the success of the Galileo Program!
