New Mexico Cooperative Extension Service Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue Operations Level When: May 13 to May 15, :00am to 5pm each day, lunch provided Where: New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy 600 Aspen, Socorro NM Register: Please register at BOTH links below Department of Homeland Security and at under Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue by April 29th, 2019 Limited spots available Emergencies involving large animals are exceptionally dangerous to both humans and animals involved. First responders are often unfamiliar with handling large animals and require specialized training in animal behavior, best handling practices and rescue equipment. Participants will get real world experience handling large animals. They will master the practical application of large animal rescue equipment such as slings, rescue harnesses, Rescue Tri/Bi pods, and other specialized equipment. Partially funded under a sub-grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
