2 Constitutional Amendments
Congress can propose amendments by a two-thirds vote in each house. The House can choose a president. The House has the power to impeach and the Senate has the power to try the case.

3 Impeached Presidents Andrew Johnson was impeached because he violated the law of tenure of office. He was acquitted by the Senate. Bill Clinton was impeached because of inappropriate relations with an intern. Nixon resigned because he was going to be impeached.

4 Executive Powers All appointments made by the President have to be approved by a majority vote of the Senate. All treaties made by the President must be approved by two-thirds vote in the Senate. Congress can also investigate to help with its legislative powers.
