2 Combustion (burning) a reaction in which oxygen reacts with a hydrocarbon to produce energy in the form of heat and light. Examples: Natural gas in furnaces and stoves Wood burning for a fire Candles

3 Photosynthesis The process that uses light energy (sunlight), carbon dioxide and water to make glucose (sugar) and oxygen. (Glucose)

4 Cellular Respiration Process that breaks down glucose with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water. Occurs in the cells every living thing! PLANTS and ANIMALS!

6 Rust Rust is an iron oxide, formed by the reaction of IRON and OXYGEN in the presence of water. 4 Fe (s) + 3 O2 (g) ==> 2 Fe2O3 (s)
