Jacob had given Joseph a coat that showed he was Jacob’s favorite son. PLAY Sad SAY Joseph’s proud attitude made his ten older brothers hate him. PLAY Explain SLIDE 4 = SAY Jacob said to Joseph, "Your brothers are grazing the sheep near {Shekem.=Shechem.} Go check on them."

PLAY RestPose SAY Judah had an idea: "Let’s sell Joseph to the traders as a slave. We really shouldn’t kill him." PLAY Explain SAY They sold Joseph for about eight ounces of silver, and watched as the sad boy was led away. PLAY Sad SAY Ruben had been away. When he returned, he was upset to find Joseph gone. PLAY Confused SLIDE 7 = SAY "What can we do?" He asked.

PLAY Pleased SAY Joseph said: God has made me governor over Egypt, and sent me ahead of you to save our family. PLAY DoMagic1 SAY Go get my father. Pack up your families and possessions, and move to Egypt. PLAY Explain SLIDE 15 = SAY I will give you the best grazing land, and will provide for you, during the famine.

^*#{}#*^ PLAY Explain SAY What a happy reunion the brothers had as they forgave each other! PLAY DoMagic1 SAY Joseph’s brothers did not control their anger, and it led to pain, suffering, and fear. But Joseph chose to have a forgiving spirit, and controlled his anger, resulting in unity and joy. MOVE 20,50 SAY Now it’s your turn to help tell the story. SAY I will tell the same story again, but pause each time an emotion is mentioned. SAY Your job is to use facial expressions to show each of the emotions mentioned. PLAY Pleased SAY Ready? But emotions can get out of control, or get in the way of our relationship to God or to other people. PLAY Explain SAY Anger, especially, if it is not controlled, or is allowed to build up inside, causes bad actions and unhappiness.
