1 MOCK CHOCOLATE TRIAL RESULTS Science Festival 2016
Cambridge Clinical Research Facility The NIHR/Wellcome Trust Cambridge Clinical Research Facility MOCK CHOCOLATE TRIAL RESULTS Science Festival 2016 What was the chocolate trial about? Cambridge Clinical Research Facility’s ‘Mock Chocolate Trial’ was designed to give you an opportunity to see what it is like to read research information, give informed consent and be randomised to a ‘trial chocolate’ (1 of 2 flavours). What were the 2016 results? Overall 393 people signed a consent form agreeing to take part and 352 of you gave us some feedback. After eating the chocolate you were randomly assigned to, most people indicated they found the chocolate to be ‘as tasty’ as their usual chocolate. The good news is, most people felt they did learnt more about clinical trials by taking part, which was our aim! A partnership between the Wellcome Trust, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Cambridge
