1 What is Reflect? Recordings are created to support your learning
“I found them a useful back up to the notes distributed and used them selectively when I wanted to revisit a topic I was less confident about.” Quote from student survey Recordings are created to support your learning Recordings can help you take notes and revisit complex ideas Recordings can be watched on most devices and bookmarking features allow you to personalise your viewing

2 A capture is not a lecture!
Reflect lecture capture is not a substitute for being there because learning is active Live lectures have interaction, discussion and the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback You can’t passively sit and absorb information like a sponge. Learning happens when you engage and take part Exploring and participating in your subject with your peers benefits you and them, helping you all achieve your potential

3 Using lecture capture to enhance your learning
Simply re-watching the ‘box-set’ of your lectures before the exam, like cramming, is unlikely to help long term learning. To develop deeper understanding and prepare for exams you may need to: Consider how you will use lecture recordings, and build this into your weekly routine early on. Review recordings to clarify bits you missed or didn’t understand during the lecture. Give yourself challenging questions to answer by dipping into your notes, lecture recordings and background reading. These questions could be based on past exam questions, learning objectives, assignments or simply topics that interest you.
