2. Charting Induction and Airway Management Events
Induction of General Anesthesia and securing an Airway is NOT the time to be charting in detail!
Your GOAL is to “bookmark” the time the Induction Event begins
Look for the Macro Bar on the left part of the screen which will be running down the page and not across
Regional Anesthesia Start
Monitored Anesthesia Care Start
General Anesthesia Start
Clicking on one of these 3 Buttons will place a bookmark on the Timeline
For a Combined Regional – General Anesthetic: – click Regional when starting Block – then click General when Inducing the GA

A “Tool Tip” appears when the cursor arrow hovers over a button
In this case, the name of the Macro button is “GA Start”
This button has been configured to add : event: the time that Anesthesia is induced a reminder: you need to select an “Anesthesia Type” the symbol “G” in the appropriate TimeBox
when the button is left-clicked a pop-up window appears
you have two choices: accept the time shown (click OK or hit [Enter] key) change the time (if you were delayed or forgot to click GA Start)

After clicking the GA Start button:
The button has a “depressed” look to show that it has been clicked (no need to repeat!)
There is now the symbol “G” on the TimeLine (the button-click time of 21:25 was altered to 21:20)
Hovering near the symbol “G” tells you what Events have been logged
Now you can direct your full attention to the Induction and Intubation of your patient.
Once the Case is well underway, you can complete the documentation.

5. Charting Induction and Airway Management Events
The easiest way to Add Events is to left-click on the TimeLine in the desired timebox
When the Add Events window opens, the time of 21:20 will have been entered
An alternate method is to use the drop-down Menu item: Insert/View => Add Events (the shortcut key is F6)
The drawback of this method is that the default time entered in the Add Events window is the Current Time (i.e. 21:50 – not 21:20)
You will need to change this time (awkward)

6. Charting Induction and Airway Management Events
This is the “Add Events” window – via click on TimeLine method
Event Time desired
Click to Select Event Set
This lists all Events in the selected Event Set

7. Charting Induction and Airway Management Events
Select Event Set – then select individual Events
Press Control Key while Left-Clicking Mouse to select separate Events
When done selecting Events, Left-Click this Arrow
