2. Construction Decided to use plastic tubing and make loops
Wanted to avoid using nails to keep the wood from splintering
Peg board would be the easy means of fixing the tubing in a consistent shape without using screws
Agreed ball spiraling down funnel would be interesting and take up time
Use hinges to let the box swing up and utilize more height and maintain a level of consistency

3. Roller Coaster It starts out as a plastic tubing with a pretzel loop
Next the ball goes though a series of PVC ramps
The ramps spit the ball out into a funnel
The ball spirals down the funnel
The Ball goes into a spiral of plastic tubing

4. Energy Stored
Potential Energy = Mass * Acceleration Due To Gravity * Height
( kilograms) * (9.81 Meters Per Second Per Second) * ( Meters) = .237 Joules
The starting potential energy is .237 Joules
Energy is lost due to friction and collisions on the PVC step downs

5. Conclusions The funnel is too variable Peg board is very useful
15 seconds is a very long time
The easiest way to eat up time is to go down in a spiral with a slight incline and not build up too much speed
Zip ties are easy to use and inexpensive
