2 Fig 1 Fixation of the intraaortic balloon pump. (A) A hydrocolloid dressing is placed at the skin exit site (arrow). The line of the balloon device on the chest wall was first fixed with the “Chicago bracket.” The bracket is secured to the skin with sutures, and the second flange of the balloon is sutured to the bracket. (B) Transparent dressing covers the balloon exit (arrow). The midportion of the driveline is attached to a comfortable position on the abdominal wall with a Foley anchor (*).
