Design Intent – Planning the Model
Design intent is the consideration of the end use of a part, and possible changes to the part, when creating a solid model. Example: Creation of the construction plane to allow draft on the extruded base INTRODUCTION TO SOLID MODELING USING SOLIDWORKS 2009
13
Design Intent – Selecting a Modeling Technique
When adding the fillets, they can be added in one step or in three separate steps If you want to be able to change all three simultaneously, use the first method If you want to be able to change each fillet individually, use the second method Always keep in mind the intended use and possible modifications when considering how to create the model INTRODUCTION TO SOLID MODELING USING SOLIDWORKS 2009
