There are three large sanatoriums in Birštonas Tulpė (English: Tulip) Versmė(English: Spring) and Eglė . Birštonas also has hotels and country farmsteads. Local attractions include Vytautas hill, two museums; and the Promenade, a path near the Nemunas River. Cycling, riding a horse, sailing, sculling, or canoeing along the Verknė or the Nemunas rivers are provided. There are some bars, pizza places and restaurants.
ACCESSIBILITY
50km south of Kaunas and less than an hour away by road, close to the main Vilnius-Marijampolė highway and just a few kilometers east of the Via Baltica. There’s no train station, but a handful of daily buses ensure comfort.
Once there, almost everything to be seen can be found within easy walking distance of the center.
