Changes
Different changes have been implemented in our data collection system since last year, specially in our Web Forms and Templates.
Other changes are planned with a new version of Edamis we have installed last year

2. Flags 1, 2, 3 in eDAMIS Web-Forms
For domain MEAT and POULTRY
Special flags with associated comment are disabled
Other domains will follow this year
Special flags are removed from the WF in order to be more SDMX compliant; This is the case for Meat and Poultry domains.
Our intention is to do this for all other agriculture domains by mid 2014.
New flags will be used in our WF to be ' again, more SDMX compliant. You will hear about this changes in the next presentation about "Standard lists of flags"

ECAS user validation
Starting 10 of October 2013 all Edamis users were requested to use the ECAS account
ECAS means : (European Commission Authentication Service) to sign in to the eDAMIS portal.

When trying to connect to the Edamis portal you will be asked to login by using the ECAS account: with different options:
The user is already defined in ECAS ; once logged in via ECAS, Circa is disabled
The user is already defined in ECAS but doesn't remember his password ; reset password via ECAS
The user is not yet defined in ECAS ; setup ECAS account first , then login to Edamis

New eDAMIS version 3.3d
Since 20 November 2013
Performance problems
Validation rules handling problems
The new version of Edamis is in production since 20 of November 2013.
After the implementation of the new version we detected some performance problems when connecting to the portal and when entering data.
Some datasets were blocking also due to some irregularities on "validation rules handling"
Since end november 2013 locking problems were solved, and the response time of the system is again normal since January 2014

6. Send/Receive feedback function
Send comments to senders
Message is linked to the data transmission
In case a rejection is not justified
This new function can be used bethween Eurostat and Member States to exchange messages linked to the transferred data.
We will use this feature in case a rejection is not justified but further clarifications are needed from the sender side.

8. GIP forecast Web-Forms
Datasets will be reviewed by mid-2014
Define different data periodicity and transmission periodicity
Possibility to generate automatic reminders
Possibility to reduce the number of datasets
The GIP forecast Web-Forms (Gross Indigenous Production) datasets will be reviewed by mid 2014.
With the new version of Edamis will will be able to generate Web-Forms with mixed periodicity ( means data periodicity differs from transmission periodicity).
By doing this we will also generate automatic reminders.

9. Mixed flags in eDAMIS Web-Forms
New templates with 2 flag columns
Flag combination will be possible
As we have discarded the use of flags we will give our senders the possibility to combine flags.
We will nevertheless limit this feature to 2 flag columns to guarantee a user friendly view of our templates .
