Where do we need add the link?
The logical place to add the MVE link is where RMF’s Resource Monitoring link is. The RMF link is under “Performance” category. The MVE link should go under this category. 4/19/2019

How to add the MVE link? There are two ways to add: 1) The hard way:
It involves manually changing the parameters configuration file in USS and running a script to update the z/OSMF. 2) The easy way: It involves using the z/OSMF web interface to add and/or modify the links. I choose this method as it is convenient and interactive. 4/19/2019

Field descriptions Name: It is the external name that appears under the z/OSMF “categories”. It needs to be unique. SAF Resource Name Suffix: It is used internally by z/OS security system to authorize access to the resources. URL: This is where our MVE link goes. We need to customize according to our installation and customer needs what our “home” would be. 4/19/2019

Customizing MVE link MVE is a already very popular among our customers as web interface to MainView for z/OS and CMF Online views. The customization of MVE link depends on the installation. Here is a sample link to understand various MVE link parameters: * mvmvs sysover'&autologon=y Hostname: Name of the host of the MVE host server. Port number: Port number of the MVE host server. Transfer command is used to connect a specified context. The context needs to be “*” (current) always. If it is a CMF Monitor only customer, then the “product” needs to be CMF. Otherwise, it is MVMVS. The initial view/menu can be set as required. Autologon allows the MVE logon credentials to be saved between sessions. Note: Its is preferred, but not necessary, to have MVE running on the same system as the z/OSMF. MVE is not just limited to CMF Online and MainView for z/OS. So, any product and view that can be accessed through MVE can be now accessed through MVE link in z/OSMF. 4/19/2019
